HEYWORTH HEALTH OFFICE- EMERGENCY ACTION PLANS
An Emergency Action Plan(EAP) is a document that instructs school personnel how to respond during a potentially life-threatening event. EAPs are individualized and agreed upon by the parents, school nurse and sometimes the primary care physician (when medication is involved). Any student with a known health condition that has the potential to have a serious episode should have an Emergency Action Plan in place at the school.
Asthma, food allergies (that may require use of an epi-pen), diabetes and seizures are examples of some health conditions that require an Emergency Action Plan.
Also available is the Diabetes Medical Management Plan and Headache Management Plan .
